What Is The Recommended Soil for Planting Cannabis Seeds?Updated 3 months ago

When planting cannabis seeds, it's important to use a soil mix that supports healthy seed germination and plant growth. You can opt for a high-quality commercial mix such as FoxFarm Happy Frog or FoxFarm Light Warrior Seed Starter, which are both suitable for seedlings. We recommend NOT using Ocean Forest until the vegetative stage, it is best used with photoperiod plants rather than autoflowers.

Alternatively, you can create your own blend by primarily using coco coir and mixing it with worm castings or manure. A good mix would consist of mostly coco coir with the remainder being worm casting, manure, or soil, along with a small amount of perlite for better aeration and drainage. While pure peat moss or coco coir are also viable options, they tend to dry out quickly or become overly saturated, requiring more careful attention to watering.

It's crucial to avoid using soil with time-released nutrients such as Miracle Grow or Scott's Soil, as they can be too potent for your seedlings and lead to nutrient burn or even kill your precious plants.
